God is a sending God. He sent Adam and Eve into the world to care for and develop it. He sent Israel into the world to represent Him to all the nations. He sent Jesus into the world to settle once and for all the problem of sin and death. Finally, He sent the Church into the world with the good news of Christ’s saving work on the cross. As Christopher Wright puts it, “The mission is God’s. The marvel is that God invites us to join it.” So, we are sent (on mission) by Jesus to places nearby and faraway.  We reach out in His name to meet physical needs and tell the Good News of who He is and what He has done. LEARN MORE
